Let's try this again.

Here are the instructions from Wikipedia to moose. Just ignore my first (intoxicated) post about the rules. :)

The players gather around the table and decide as to which side of the ice cube tray is the "give" side and which side is the "take" side. Usually the right side is the give side and the left side is the take side. In some variations, a cup of whatever alcohol that is being used is placed in the center for the ice cube tray to be placed against and rotate around. After this is decided and set up, players take turns trying to bounce the quarter into the ice cube tray.

When the quarter lands in the ice cube tray and it lands on the "give" side, then the player who bounced the quarter into the tray can distribute as many sips to any combination of other players as there are squares that were passed over by the quarter. When the quarter lands in the ice cube tray and it lands on the "take" side, then the player who bounced the quarter into the tray has to take as many sips as there are squares that were passed over by the quarter.

If the quarter lands in the furthest row (or last two squares on either the "give" or "take" side) every player has to put their hands to their heads, mimicking a moose's antlers, and yell "MOOSE." The last person to do so has to take the "main drink" (also known as moose cup). (Other variations include the person has to fill their drink and then empty it).

However, if a player yells "Moose!" prematurely when no one has made it in the cup, he or she must drink the bowl. If the quarter lands in the bowl on a players turn he or she must drink the bowl and lose a turn.

If the quarter lands on the ice cube tray but does not fall into a square, this is a social and everyone must take a drink. If the quarter ends up in any person's drink, the player that bounced the quarter has to finish that person's drink.

Sometimes, if there is a tie when players yell "MOOSE!", then players put their thumb onto the table. The last one to do so, drinks the main drink or moose cup.

Our variations: if you bounce the quarter into the cup at the end of the tray then you get to chose who drinks what's in that cup. And if the quarter lands on the tray but not in a slot then you make a rule. You can change the rules to your liking.

Oopsy!

So my post last night was created while we were playing moose. I will edit that later to fix the instructions. Oops. :)

Either way, it's a fun game.

Moose!!

Have you ever played the drinking game moose?? Wow, lots 'o fun! And lots 'o drinkin'.

Get an ice cube tray. You bounce a quarter towards the tray. If the quarter lands on the left side of the tray, you take that many drinks (I.em 2 from you, you drink 2). If it lands on the right side, you take that many drinks.

If the quarter lands in the slot farthest from you, then you put your hands to your temple (making the motion of moose ears). The last person to do this, has to drink the partially filled cup of beer (or whatever it is partially filled with). If the quarter does not land in a slot, bit lands in the middle of the tray then you make a rule. If someone makes their quarter in the partially filled cup then that person makes someone else drink the cup full.

So there are the rules. Ask if you have questions. Have fun!!...we sure do. :):)

Justin's birthday.

Here is one of my promised posts....

I planned a surprise birthday party for Justin. It took place on May 9th which was a couple of days before his birthday. My grand plan was to have our family come to KC and have some friends surprise him as well. I wanted everyone to surprise him at the golf course. The guys would go play golf and the girls would do whatever to get ready for the rest of the day.

This plan sort of happened. Some of our family came. His parents and brothers were all there. My dad was not able to come because my brother had a baseball tournament. A couple of his friends who had planned on being there were not able to show up. So the only friend that was able to golf was Brian. That was fine. He was surprised none the less.

Justin and Brian.

There was one little snag in the plan about a week before everyone came. Justin was invited to a work BBQ and he was very excited about going. He is newly interested into meat smoking and this is what his coworker was doing so he wanted to be apart of that. I was very concerned that he would be disappointed that I had planned all of this and he would not be able to go to the BBQ. I made sure his coworker knew that he would not be coming. Luckily, Justin was not disappointed.

I had the family surprise him at our house since getting him to the golf course would have been impossible otherwise. The guys golfed and the girls went to lunch, did a little shopping, and prepared for the BBQ at our house. When the guys got done golfing they came home and BBQed. It was a fun night of a couple of drinks, rockband, Apples to Apples, friends, and family.

See what I mean?

She didn't steal my pillow last night - but isn't she so stinkin' cute cuddled up with the pillow??

In other news, I am packing up the car to head to WashMo with Tiffers. We are going to visit Katie. I am super excited about it. I will be back on Tuesday.

Happy Memorial Day weekend, everyone!!

You ARE, in fact, a dog.

I swear Lucky (the cute little girl pictured) forgets that she is a dog. She likes to think she is human.

I woke up around 4 in the morning to find her right in the middle of me and Justin. That is nothing new. She is always in the middle up top (when it's warmer) or in the middle under the covers (when it's cooler). This time was a little different though. She had stolen one of my pillows!! She was on her side with her head on my 2nd pillow. Are you kidding me??

It was actually really freaking cute, I have to admit. I don't have any pics since it was the crack of dawn.

But that's my girl. So spoiled that she forgets she is a dog. :)

Peace out Twitter.

I attempted Twitter and I didn't like it. I update my facebook status like crazy, but I could never remember to update my Twitter. Oh well, I tried. I am going to get rid of my account. Farewell Twitter. Maybe some other time I will try to pick it back up..but for now, Facebook is enough for me.

In other news, I am going to visit my bestfriend over memorial day. I am super excited. I will have some pics of that, I am sure.

I have a bunch of things to blog about with a bunch of pics. I just haven't had the time. I have pictures from my trip with Beth to Springfield to see H (which was a BLAST). I have pics from Justin's surprise birthday celebration. I don't have a ton of pics from there, but it definitely deserves its own post. And then Friday night Rick and Amy had their wedding reception so I have pics (AND VIDEO!!) from that. We had a lot of fun, but we definitely wish we could have gone to their wedding in the Dominican.

So lots of new pics and entries should be coming soon. We'll see if I have the time to post all 3 events this coming up week. Now that I joined the gym, I guess I actually have to go to see results. :)

The time has come...

I could no longer stand my new pudgy body. It was depressing. And depressing in a way that was making me gain more weight and get more flabby. Not good. Justin and I finally decided to join a gym near our house. I had cancelled my membership around August of last year. I had not been to the gym in 9 MONTHS!! Holy cow!!

I was warned about the freshman 15 when I went to college. I started down a path to gain those 15 pounds, but luckily I was a student-athlete so I never gained that much. I was not, however, warned about the post-wedding 10(ish). I was in GREAT shape for our wedding and I worked really hard to get there. Then what do I do when the wedding is over?? Oh, completely disregard my previously successful work out routine.

I have decided to set a goal date. This will be the day when all of my backfat, love handles, and whatever else that is hanging over my jeans - it will be gone. That date is 4th of July. My goal is to lose 10 pounds by that day. That would be a better possibility if I could adjust my diet. That's my big struggle with weight lose - my diet. I don't mind working out, but I hate restricting my diet. I like to eat. Bottom line. :)

We joined yesterday and I had my first work out yesterday. It felt great to finally be in the gym again. Each cardio machine has its own little TV screen so you can watch whatever you want. At our old gym, there were about 5 TVs near the cardio machines that were preset. You had to hope that you could get on a machine within viewing distance of the TV you want to watch. It was a pain because that gym was always crowded. This is a smaller gym that is not too crowded. I am anxious to see some results, but I am going to try not to look at the scale or do any measurements (except for my starting weight and measurements that I did yesterday) for at least a week or two.

Here are some pics of gym. It's pretty spiffy.

Happy birthday, Husband.

I dropped the ball yesterday and didn't make a post for Justin's birthday. Sorry dear. Yeah right, he doesn't even read this thing. :)

I planned a surprise birthday weekend for him last weekend. It was a good time and he was definitely surprised. I will make another post about that some other time...when the pics are uploaded.

Happy birthday, Justin. I love you!

11 months...and 84 months.

Today is anniversary city. Er, monthiversary and anniversary.

We have been married for 11 months today. Yay! It's crazy that almost a year has gone by that quickly. Around this time last year I was making a seating arrangement. That was my absolute least favorite thing about wedding planning. It was awful. I made it through that and then had to make place cards. The place cards were my 2nd least favorite task. I printed them myself and it took FOREVER to get them aligned correctly. So that sucked. And then I tortured myself even more by choosing to glue colored rhinestones on each place card to symbolize the meal choice of the guest. Why did I do that to myself? The place cards turned out really cool though.

So it's been almost a year since the wedding. And as I said, it seems crazy that a year has gone by that quickly. What is even more crazy is that today marks 7 years that Justin and I have been together. Most days it does not feel like we have been together that long. I say most days because we have those days.

Happy monthiversary and anniversary to us! :)

Cheers to that!!

ETA pics. The middle pic is the oldest one I have on my computer. It is from 2004. Someday I will scan some real old school pics onto my computer.

Oh dang!

The weekend is upon us...FINA-FREAKING-LY! It's crazy that many work weeks seem like they drag on, but here we are at the 2nd of May. The 5th month in 2009. Crazy.

This weekend is going to be a blast. I am so excited. Beth and I are leaving for Springfield tomorrow morning to visit H. This is our first time visiting her down there...she always comes to KC to see us.

The three of us together are a trip. We have so much fun together. This weekend won't be any different, I am sure of it. Apparently Springfield has a Cinco De Mayo pub crawl tomorrow evening. If the weather cooperates (which really is not looking good), we will be participating in that. I am definitely looking forward to tomorrow. I will, of course, miss the husband (cheese ball, I know)...but I will deal.
