More to Love

I just saw a commercial for a new Fox reality show called More to Love.

It seems to be a Bachelor type show (same creators) for "fluffy" people. A line in the synopsis actually says, "the unscripted series follows a single average guy with a big waist and an even bigger hear as he romances several confident and secure plus-size women..." Really??? Is it necessary to single out larger people to have their own show to find love? They can't do a mixture of all shapes and sizes to create one very dynamic reality show of the sort?

The synopsis continues on with adjectives like: curvy, full figured, husky, and plus-size. I would consider myself a fairly average sized woman and this still pisses me off. The whole concept is completely ridiculous to me. Small people can't love large people and vice versa??

Apparently this show is attempting to send a message that one should embrace his or her size. And to know that regardless of size, he/she can be loved. I am happy to say that I never had a closed mind when it came to a guy's size during my dating experiences. And this show is just closing the doors to all women who are not plus-sized (for this particular bachelor).

The whole concept just blows my mind. Do you have thoughts on the show? Am I way off the mark on my reaction to this show? Do you agree? Leave it in a comment.

While I support the inclusion of plus-size women in a dating show since they normally aren't - I do think it's stereotypical that they *have* to be with a larger guy. I'm fat and my husband is skinny skinny. You love who you love, it wasn't like he was looking for an overweight person.

Yes, that is my point. I, too, think its great to incorporate plus-size people into reality television. However, I don't get why they are not being included with all different types of people. It bugs.

I see what you mean, but I think it's just another twist on reality shows. and I don't mind it, because, honestly, most overweight people would never stand a chance to get on the Bachelor.
